OFFICIAL: Super Eagles Coach Éric Chelle Unveils 23-Man Squad for 2026 World Cup Qualifiers Against Rwanda and Zimbabwe


Super Eagles head coach Éric Sékou Chelle has unveiled Nigeria’s 23-man squad for the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe. The team will travel to Kigali for their clash against Rwanda on March 21, before returning to Uyo, where they will host Zimbabwe on March 25.

In goal, Stanley Nwabali retains his place following an impressive AFCON campaign and is joined by Amas Obasogie and Kayode Bankole. The defensive lineup features William Troost-Ekong, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Bruno Onyemaechi, Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina, and Igoh Ogbu, bringing a solid mix of experience and youth.

The midfield department sees the return of Wilfred Ndidi, who is back from injury, alongside Raphael Onyedika, Alhassan Yusuf Abdullahi, Alex Iwobi, Joseph Aribo, and Kano Pillars’ rising star, Papa Daniel Mustapha.

Leading the attack, Victor Osimhen spearheads a formidable frontline, supported by Ademola Lookman, Victor Boniface, Moses Simon, Sadiq Umar, Nathan Tella, Tolu Arokodare, and Samuel Chukwueze.

Notably, veteran winger Ahmed Musa has been left out of the final squad, while Nathan Tella, Tolu Arokodare, and Papa Daniel Mustapha have received their first national team call-ups, highlighting the coach’s intent to blend experience with fresh talent.

With the Super Eagles aiming to secure their place at the 2026 World Cup, this squad reflects a strategic mix of proven performers and new faces ready to make an impact.
