BREAKING: FORMER LAGOS PDP GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE JANDOR DEFECTS TO APC

Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has officially announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The former Lagos PDP governorship candidate made the declaration on March 16, 2025, citing political realignments and the need to better serve Lagosians as key reasons for his decision.

Jandor, who led the Lagos PDP campaign in the 2023 gubernatorial elections, had been at odds with several party stakeholders over internal disputes and the direction of the opposition in the state. His move to the ruling APC marks a significant shift in Lagos politics, especially considering his previous strong criticism of the party.

Political analysts speculate that Jandor’s defection could reshape the balance of power in Lagos, potentially influencing future elections. While PDP supporters have expressed disappointment, APC leaders have welcomed him, describing his crossover as a “homecoming” and a boost to the party’s strength in the state.

With this move, Jandor joins a growing list of opposition figures crossing over to the ruling party ahead of the next election cycle, further intensifying the political landscape in Nigeria’s commercial capital.
