Anambra Native Doctor, Akwa Okuko, Faces Six Charges, Could Get 20 Years in Prison

Popular Anambra native doctor, Chidozie Nwangwu, better known as Akwa Okuko, has been slammed with six serious charges by the Anambra State Government, including allegations of money ritual practices and suspected ties to drug dealers. If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in prison.

Akwa Okuko, widely regarded as one of the most powerful traditionalists in the Southeast, was arrested following an extensive investigation into his alleged criminal activities. According to reports, the state government has linked him to financial fraud, illegal dealings, and suspicious wealth accumulation.

Sources say part of the charges also include his alleged role in facilitating ritual practices involving human sacrifices, as well as assisting criminal networks in laundering illicit funds.

Authorities in Anambra have vowed to crack down on traditional figures linked to criminal activities, sending a clear message that no one is above the law.

Legal experts say that if Akwa Okuko is found guilty, he could spend two decades behind bars, a punishment meant to serve as a warning to others involved in similar practices.

The case has sparked mixed reactions, with some supporters of the native doctor claiming he is being targeted unfairly, while others insist that justice must be served.

More updates to follow as the case unfolds.
