Zoho Survey Reveals Productivity Loss in Nigerian Businesses Due to Lack of Unified Collaboration Platforms


📍 Lagos, 29 January 2025 — A recent survey by Zoho has uncovered a major challenge facing Nigerian businesses—the lack of unified collaboration platforms, leading to productivity loss and inefficient communication. The study, “The State of Productivity and Collaboration in Nigeria, 2024”, surveyed 500+ organizations across Nigeria, revealing data silos, excessive app usage, and digital fatigue as key barriers to productivity.

💡 Key Findings: ✅ Fragmented Apps Slow Productivity – 51% of employees use 1–5 apps daily, while 14% juggle more than 10 apps, with C-suite executives (81%) facing the highest app overload. ✅ Work Models in Nigeria – 55% of businesses are fully on-site, 31% hybrid, and 14% fully remote, with hybrid workers struggling the most with communication. ✅ Top Productivity Barriers – Poor WiFi/data connectivity (80%), digital fatigue (54%), and information scattered across too many apps (45%). ✅ AI and Unification Needed – 78% of employees want quick access to information across apps, while 72% believe AI adoption will boost productivity. ✅ Economic Challenges & Tech Adoption – Companies that adopted new technology rated their competitiveness higher (4/5) than those that didn’t (3/5). The slow adoption of AI (46%) and low digital tool adoption (45%) are key disadvantages.
