Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara Receives Accolades from Medical and Dental Council, Revitalizes Songhai Project


In a bid to enhance healthcare delivery in Rivers State, Governor Siminalayi Fubara welcomed the Accreditation Panel from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, led by its Registrar, Dr. Fatima Kyari. The visit aimed to assess the state's healthcare facilities and efforts in medical education. Governor Fubara expressed pride in the council's commendations for the state's ongoing work to improve health facilities and strengthen the capacity of medical trainers.

Governor Fubara noted that the state's healthcare development efforts are a testament to the administration’s determination to provide quality services to the people of Rivers State. The positive feedback from the Medical and Dental Council encourages further investments in healthcare infrastructure and training.

In addition to healthcare advancements, the Governor announced the revitalization of the Songhai Project. A special taskforce has been inaugurated to spearhead this initiative, aimed at ensuring food sufficiency in the state. The Songhai Project, once a cornerstone of agricultural innovation in the region, is expected to provide significant benefits to the people of Rivers State by boosting agricultural productivity and ensuring food security.

Governor Fubara reaffirmed his confidence that the resuscitation of the project will have a lasting impact on the local economy and the wellbeing of the state's citizens.
